How to Use Interfaith Resources

Updated: 6.1.06

The faith community is a logical and important partner in the Covering Kids & Families Back-to-School Campaign. Throughout history, people have turned to faith communities for physical sustenance, credible information and solutions to life's everyday challenges. Today, one of the most pressing challenges facing families is health care coverage. Working together, we can get millions of kids the health care coverage they need.

Even the smallest investment of time could enrich the lives of families and improve the health and future of their children. Here are some easy ways you can promote the availability of low-cost and free health care coverage for children:

Publish Newsletter Article
Include information on low-cost and free health care coverage in congregation newsletters and publications of judicatories and other religious bodies.

Include Insert in Church Bulletin
The enclosed bulletin insert has been developed for use in the Christian faith community. It can be used during worship services or made available to programs or ministries.

Make Announcements to Your Congregation
During the customary announcement time, remind parents that low-cost and free health care coverage is available for uninsured children, and provide the 1(877) KIDS-NOW toll-free number for them to call to find out if their kids are eligible.

Distribute Free Materials
Covering Kids & Families has free posters, fliers, bookmarks, stickers and fans. Order these materials and distribute them at religious events, education classes, community activities, and other places frequented by families with uninsured kids.

Materials can be ordered by completing the enclosed order form and faxing it to (202) 338-2334 or by placing an order online.
