East of the River

Grant Overview
The East of the River HUSKY Collaborative site includes local and state social service agencies, community organizations and schools from ten towns located in Eastern Connecticut. The goal is to educate families and enroll them in the HUSKY program. The project's home, within a hospital system, allows immediate access to many families in need of health care coverage. Interventions include education and training for medical and health care providers, schools, the business community, faith based organizations, consumers and other local community agencies. The Covering Connecticut's Kids and Families Automated Client Tracking System is used to monitor families' health care coverage and use the data to design specific interventions. In addition, Parent Leaders have been trained to act as liaisons to other parents and assist them with applying for HUSKY.
