Health Care District of Palm Beach County

Grant Overview
The Health Care District of Palm Beach County employs KidCare Specialists to seek new partnerships with Chamber of Commerce, small minority-owned businesses, and organizations where families of targeted populations congregate. The project will supply training, materials, and support for creating and sustaining a foundation for continuous outreach at school parent centers, faith communities, target messages to Hispanic and Haitian communities via radio stations and print media. Telephone calls logged to the local multi-lingual phone bank will be used to track requests for KidCare applications and inquiries. The coalition will use data to evaluate campaigns and plan future outreach efforts. Palm Beach outreach activities will continue with support and involvement of the 250 community partners actively distributing KidCare applications and information. The purpose of making outreach a part of daily activities of willing agencies is to cement outreach with those community groups already involved with children. The Coalition works with the state Covering Kids Coalition on reducing barriers, simplifying, and coordinating program activities.
