Hudson County

Grant Overview
Covers Hudson County, another very poor urban area in the northeastern part of the state with a predominantly Hispanic population and many undocumented immigrants. Hudson Perinatal Consortium offers local level training and, in collaboration with the Jersey City Family Health Center, stations outreach workers at six hospitals, extending normal service hours of outreach and application assistance to include Friday evenings and Saturdays, and provides community-based presentations and application assistance at retail stores, factories and restaurants; through an existing community-based outreach vehicle; and in coordination with Hudson County Board of Social Services, Jersey City Public Schools and faith-based institutions.
