Five Guidelines for Developing Customer-Friendly Websites is intended to help state agencies and other organizations do a better job of helping people find information on the Web about Medicaid, SCHIP and other government services. The publication presents five guidelines that are critical for producing a customer-friendly site:

1. Make your site easy to find
2. Create a clean and uncluttered design
3. Write for your clients
4. Provide clear pathways for user tasks
5. Conduct usability testing throughout development
