Louisiana Covering Kids & Families Initiative

Grant Overview
Louisiana Covering Kids & Families (LA-CKF) is a program of Agenda for Children, a statewide child advocacy organization dedicated to ensuring that Louisiana is a state where all children can thrive. LA-CKF supports one statewide and three regional coalitions to connect uninsured, eligible children and families to our Louisiana Children's Health Insurance Program (LaCHIP) and other health care coverage programs. In order to address the three goals of 1) coordinating and conducting outreach programs; 2) simplifying enrollment and renewal processes; and 3) coordinating existing health care coverage programs, the statewide coalition will engage partners with a statewide reach to provide a base from which to develop coalitions and mobilize constituencies at the regional and local levels. Outreach will be conducted through key intermediaries connected to, and in most cases represented on, the coalitions. These include schools, childcare agencies, faith based organizations, employers and businesses, links to special populations, and health care providers.
